  1. Which firewire port on your mac pro are you using? the front port always caused me trouble - I think there are issues with the firewire chips.
  2. I don't see why not. I've thought about it quite a bit. I have 24 channels of mic preamps to firewire for inputs and a euphonix mc mix for fader control. A cheap beringer ADA8000 would provide 8 more analog outs for monitor mixes. I'd even go one step further and use logic's bass / guitar amps, keyboard instruments and EZ Drummer via my TrapKat as well. Although it's entirely do-able, I end up just using my 01V96
  3. Are you using a template? Try starting from scratch. I had a similar problem - every-time I re-sized a window CRASH
  4. Insert a Space Designer. Click the little triangle to the right of "IR Sample" There you can load the IR by locating the file where it was saved. I keep mine in Library/Application Support/Logic/Plug-In Settings/Space Designer Note: when this type of insert is used set the Space Designer outputs as follows: Dry at 0 Rev at Max
  5. hey how do you make those Atari screen shots?
  6. bummer dude. No dongle - no Logic. The good news is a new copy is only $499 Maybe you can tell your client your dog ate it. You do have a dog right?
  7. I'd like to add - There is a lot of hype on "studio" condenser mics.. The plus side to buying a dynamic mic such as the SM57 are: 1) The low sensitivity requires you to be close to it and thus drastically reduces ambient noise and room reflections. Good for home studios with less than perfect acoustics. In other words they don't pick up sound at a distance. They are not designed to. 2) You can use it at your gig and the soundguy will not complain. (unless he is an idiot) I am in favor of using dynamic omni mics. Omnis sound natural and do not have the bass proximity boost of cardioids. There are also less plosives.
  8. Garage Band has presets for Female radio voice Check the Media tab / Garageband /vocals / radio effect or Female radio voice in the podcasting list. Good place to start?
  9. Here is a link to some tutorials: http://www.zoom-in.com/logic-quicktips Look for the 2 part STP2'S FREQUENCY SPECTRUM ANALYZER videos. Just the ticket. Other good stuff there too
  10. I downloaded the Ultra Analog VA-1 Demo and this is what I saw when I loaded it up.
  11. You have the NEW aluminum MacBook? If so there is no firewire port there you are stuck with USB. Pity. Apple's way of getting you to spend more money for a "pro"
  12. There are flat bars mounted to the horizontal tubes. I have a couple of these and I won't give them up!
  13. I spoke too soon. I thought I once had this working. Did it work under Tiger? Here is reply from Apogee: Hello, This is a known issue that will need to be fixed by Apple. They are aware of the issue, but I do not have any information about when it will be fixed. I apologize for any inconvenience. Here is a temporary workaround: - Activate the MIDI controller functions in Maestro. - In Logic, open a project. On the main toolbar, right-click and select customize toolbar. Add the Learn icon. Click the Learn icon and go to expert view. Move the Duet rotary encoder so it is recognized under Input message. Adjust the controller Assignment parameter as desired and save it. Here are some basic settings: Class: Global Parameter: Playhead Under value, choose Scaled for the Mode.
