  1. The fact that users have to install an audio fuse to prevent real world damage on their ears and equipment is an absolutely massive one and legal action should be considered if you have provable damages. Apple doesn't get to hide behind third party plugins being the culprit, the issue is too severe and they have to take action to make these noise bursts an impossibility in their software. At the very minimum they should make a statement warning people of this possibility with 3rd party plugins and letting us know of the ice 9 safety net. An airhorn blast to the ear with lasting damage, if done on purpose would be considered felonious assault. It's not a joke, this problem could easily ruin lives and Apple is silent.
  2. Heres what is causing it for me, incase this is helpful for troubleshooting 1. Spitfire raven bush moon glades (uses spitfire sample player): While playing a slow ostinato, very low cpu, buffer size doesn't matter. It will happen after a random number of loops but not more than 15 cycles through 2. Fracture sounds Box Factory. It would happen upon playing the library at random times but always happened after about 30 seconds of playing the library. The dev got back to me and said it was an issue with Kontakt and they updated the library with a fix. No limiter i've tried on the master bus has caught it fast enough. There is always a few milliseconds that squeaks through. More specifics on the session with the Spitfire sample player causing it: 8 bar loop @ 65 bpm playing quarter note ostinatos with the same 4 note pattern. Around 15 cycles through plays fine. Then it starts happening once or twice every loop. Then starts playing just fine again and eventually the noise pops happen again. No cpu meter spikes No Core overloads No pausing of the playhead No slowdowns or glitches with the playhead or logic at all. Just noise bursts as if there is a corrupted round robin sample triggering at points. (A corrupted sample doesn't seem to be the issue because it happens so randomly sometimes after 3-5 minutes of looping) Noise in right channel of stereo track only.
  3. Well this started happening to me as well as many others and after researching the issue it is obvious that Apple is well aware of it. They offer no warning whatsoever that this could happen and damage our hearing and gear even though they are now well informed of it. Start gathering your evidence with a DB meter and video recordings if its happening to you, as I am sure this will be a class action lawsuit in the future. I'll be chatting about it with a lawyer this week.
  4. I've never seen it but as I said if you're willing to share your project with me then I'd be curious to have a look and help troubleshoot it if I can. Id love to but I have a NDA for this project. Looks like it happened again, this time in a project with all audio tracks and zero plugins. I imported 10 stems into new tracks, and the cue wasn't working for the scene so I deleted them and deleted the tracks. However they are still playing as if I never did that. Mixer window with all tracks up doesn't show them or where the audio is coming from what so ever. The only way to fix it was to delete those 10 stems in the project audio file window. Very weird!
  5. Yep open or closed doesn't make them appear. Nor anything with hiding / unhiding tracks. I also don't see them in the mixer window at all which is weird. Really curious if this is a glitch related to my system or something that Logic has done for others.
  6. Thanks for the tips. Curious if this has ever happened for anyone else? Logic has a lot of phantom bugs when working with large templates that is forcing me to move to cubase.
  7. Record enable 3 tracks yes then they all have the same midi part
  8. Recording midi with vsts / string sample libraries. The tracks were all in a track stack aux then suddenly gone. Only fix is to solo everything else and then the audio of those phantom tracks finally stops.
  9. Hi all curious if anyone has experienced this before. Its quite rare for me but happens at least a few times a year. I am working with my orchestral template and record a string part with 3 tracks enabled. Bass Cellos and Violas. Logic starts slowing down a glitching, like its about to freeze. Then somehow my basses and Cello tracks completely dissapear from my session BUT I can still hear their audio. Such a maddening issue and have absolutely no clue what is going on here. I've tried everything including hiding / unhiding, delete all tracks, etc. The audio is still there but no midi or tracks in my session. Thanks!
  10. Oh nice, but you still have to record all the track stacks into stems individually correct? To prevent the reverb from other track stacks bleeding into each stem?
  11. Do you use aux busses for reverbs? Those would have to be moved over as inserts on each individual track stack for this to work if Im not misunderstanding anything. But I guess if you're mixing them as audio you wont want those reverbs on anyway?
  12. I mean physically if I route the i/o on each track stack out through my interface, then back into pro tools on another computer. Should work no? Wondering if there is anything Im overlooking.
  13. Is it possible to record my track stacks + aux reverbs into pro tools in real time? Thx
  14. Sorry I haven't had more time to look into it but its still a massive issue. If i find a solution I will let you know here.
