  1. It's also possible to keep Logic "in the loop" as a sound source: play its instruments via Reaper and record the instruments in Reaper. In that scenario you can circumvent the PDC bug, and the automation timing issue, but still use Logic's great VI's. The idea and a possible execution is discussed here: I've set it up via the loopback function in RME's totalmix software (and the IAC bus), but you could probably set it up using something like BlackHole too. Cheers, Merlin.
  2. Can relate. I bit the bullet and have switched to Reaper. After 5 years and counting (that's how long this bug is around and not fixed) it was enough. The learning curve is steep and it's painful to leave a DAW that I've mastered so well to go to one that I'm an absolute beginner in. Having said that: the PDC bug is simply too much. Often I could "fix" the results of the bug in the audio domain (after bouncing), but since the timing of elements in a song are all related, the fix usually wasn't a fix anymore and I simply let the offish timing stand. In Reaper I'm in control over timing again.
  3. Not only missing side-chain PDC but also still no plug-in delay compensation for automation. This can't be real!!! Please write to Apple and make a report: https://www.apple.com/feedback/logic-pro.html Information why you can't use UAD or any other high latency plug-ins to its full extent in Logic Pro X: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=145627&p=759021#p759021 Thanks for testing Tedannemann. I was aware of your original great threat. So yea.... it's even worse than side-chain alone.
  4. Thanks for posting that, it was the first question I had after seeing the update. New features look fantastic but that is really bad news.
  5. Some great thoughts on the same subject were posted on the forum here: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=139466&p=717876#p717876 Cheers! Merlin.
  6. Thanks for your thoughts Atlas. No alert boxes in sight. I also checked if the problem was related to a specific project, but it seems to be project independent / happening all the time. As for key modifiers: I believe it should be a simple drag and drop scenario, but I've tried the key modifiers just to make sure; alas to no avail.
  7. Somehow I’m not able to successfully drag samples from Alchemy’s browser to an audio track. Logic seems to allow it (the text balloon with position information is shown and the transparent block the usually appears before Logic draws the waveform overview is shown as well), but then that transparent block is stuck and Logic doesn’t complete the import. When I drag a ( / the same) sample from Alchemy’s browser to an instance of drum machine designer, the import is successful. I can also drag it successfully to the "all files browser" in logic and import from there. I have seen others importing successfully from Alchemy’s browser to audio tracks, so I’m not sure what I’m overlooking. Any suggestions? Thanks! Merlin.
  8. I can confirm that this is still happening in Logic 10.4.4 here too. The bug seems tempo dependent (happening with certain tempi and and not with others), that's probably the reason some people never encounter it. A fix is long overdue.
  9. yeap that's the thread and like 4 other threads for the same BUG.. why? Cheers, Dilan. It was a reply to Fisherking who suggested to start a new thread on the matter. I just pointed out that it already was on the forum.
  10. what happens exactly? i've never seen that. are you working from a custom template? how are you cutting the tracks? maybe someone here can help, try starting a separate thread... Isn't that this thread: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=119464 ? Cheers, Merlin.
  11. I'm going to report this as well. The function for selecting unused tracks is such a time saver, but this takes away from that.
  12. Thanks atchoo! I'll re-submit the issue to Apple then. Since the "Control surface follows track selection-function" (which by deselecting gives the same result as "track lock" should give) is working properly, I can't imagine that a fix would be problematic for Apple. Although I admit that that is only a feeling and not something I have any true knowledge of. Cheers, M.
  13. Still not working in 10.4.2. Is there a MCU Pro owner that can confirm? Then I'll submit this to Apple again. Many thanks, M.
  14. Definitely on my wish list too. Would be a great time-saver. Cheers! M.
